Here's a summary of what we believe. Contact us with any questions.
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and that every word in the original copies was communicated by God. It is, therefore, absolute truth and can be trusted completely. We believe that God so worked by means of the Holy Spirit that human writers in their unique styles and personalities recorded the very Word of God. We believe that the Bible consist of 66 books; that these books are the complete and sufficient revelation of God; and that the Bible is the final authority in all matters related to belief and conduct.
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and is fully God; that he is God’s one and only son who voluntarily took humanity to himself and thus is fully man; that he was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life; that in his death he paid the penalty for our sin, and that in his bodily resurrection he defeated death securing eternal life for all who believe that he is the only way for a person to be reconciled with God. We believe that today he is sitting at the right hand of the Father; that he will return as he promised.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God; that he was active in creation and that today he continues to be active: restraining evil; convicting of sin, righteousness, and judgment; bearing witness to Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent of God’s redemptive work from beginning to final consummation in the life of everyone who is a believer in Jesus Christ.
We believe that God created a multitude of spirit beings (angels) without sin who have great intelligence and power. These angels serve God in perfect obedience. We believe that Satan, created as one of the highest angels, willfully rebelled against God leading in rebellion a host of angelic beings (demons) who remain in conflict with God working against God’s purposes and all who love God. Satan and his demons are destined for eternal judgement in the Lake of Fire having already been defeated by Jesus in his death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe that God created the world as recorded in the Bible in six days and that male and female were created in the image of God. It is mankind’s creation in the image of God that distinguishes mankind from the rest of creation. The first man and woman created were without sin and innocent enjoying a perfect relationship with God, each other, and rest of creation. But, mankind fell from this positon by an act of disobedience rebelling against God’s rule. As such all mankind are now sinners by nature and by choice; affected by sin in all areas of their being; and are therefore under just condemnation.
We believe that salvation is entirely a work of God in which a guilty sinner becomes aware of their sin and judgment before God. Understanding that there is nothing they can do to correct or change their condition, the sinner turns to God accepting God’s offer of forgiveness and reconciliation; by believing Jesus Christ paid the penalty for their sin in his death and rose from the grave guaranteeing eternal life to all who believe in him. We believe salvation is not earned or deserved but is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ and that Jesus is the only way for a person to be delivered from judgment. We believe that God’s offer is extended to everyone and that everyone who believes is guaranteed by God to receive eternal life.
We believe that the local church is the visible manifestation of the one true church; that the local church is a congregation of individuals who have received God’s gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone joining the individual to Christ and to the one true church. We believe that God has given the church two ordinances (Baptism and Lord’s Supper) to continually draw to remembrance and testify to God’s initiation, present activity, and final consummation of his saving purposes. We believe that God in the present is working to accomplish his purposes through the church. That the church has been charged with the responsibility of making disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all Jesus commanded. We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church; that local church government is a cooperative between the two offices (Pastor & Deacon) in conjunction with the members; all in submission to Jesus Christ. We believe that the local church is independent and autonomous; free from the interference or control of any organization or government.
We believe in a literal existence of heaven and hell; that both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; that those who have accepted Jesus Christ as savior will spend eternity in his presence; and that those who have refused to accept God’s gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ will be forever separated from God in Hell.
We believe that Jesus Christ is returning as he said he would; that he will return to gather those who have trusted in him to be with him forever. We believe Jesus could return at any moment, and that in his return he will bring to final consummation his redemptive work in the lives of all who believe and the final judgment of all who do not believe. We believe that the pre-tribulational, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ is the best understanding of scripture’s teaching.
