Pastor Steve Sabin
Senior Pastor
Pastor Steve began serving as pastor of First Baptist Church in November of 2014. His love for God, people, and the Word of God are evident in his ministry. In the words of Pastor Steve:“there is no greater privilege than to be part of God’s family and to fulfill the purpose God has for each of his children.” It is his passion that the Word of God be properly understood and applied to life. For God’s Words are life.
Pastor Steve married his wife Pat in 1978. He has two sons who are married with children. He previously spent 24 years serving as the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Rantoul, IL. Both he and his wife Pat, grew up in southwestern MI. Pastor Steve received his under graduate education at Grand Rapids Baptist College (now Cornerstone University) and has a graduate degree from Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary.
He would welcome talking with you and desires to be accessible so feel free to stop by or phone and make an appointment. If you don’t find him at church you may see him bicycling in the countryside around Blanchester (smile, wave, and give space).
Phyllis Oliver
Church Secretary
Phyllis has served as the church secretary since 1999. Her administrative skills are matched by her love for people and willingness to serve. Growing up in Blanchester, she knows everyone and is always willing to listen.
